Submission Guidelines

Journal of Performance Management

Published by the Association for Management Information in Financial Services (AMIfs)

Field of Research: 3502 – Management Science & Information Systems

 

The Journal of Performance Management (JPM) welcomes high-quality original research that advances theory, practice, and policy in performance management, financial services management, and information systems.

 

Authors are requested to carefully review the following guidelines before submitting their manuscripts.

1. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

 

The journal considers the following categories:

  • Original Research Articles (6,000–8,000 words)

  • Review Articles / Systematic Reviews (7,000–9,000 words)

  • Conceptual / Theoretical Papers (5,000–7,000 words)

  • Case Studies (4,000–6,000 words)

  • Short Communications / Research Notes (2,000–3,000 words)

  • Book Reviews (1,000–1,500 words)

 

Word count includes references, tables, and appendices.

2. Manuscript Preparation

 

Language

 

All submissions must be written in clear, concise academic English.

 

Formatting Requirements

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides

  • Page numbers included

  • Continuous line numbering preferred

3. Manuscript Structure

 

Manuscripts should be arranged in the following order:

  1. Title Page

    • Title of the paper

    • Author(s) full name(s)

    • Institutional affiliation(s)

    • Corresponding author email

    • ORCID (if available)

  2. Abstract (150–250 words)

    • Purpose

    • Methodology

    • Key findings

    • Practical implications

    • Originality/value

  3. Keywords

    • 4–6 keywords

  4. Main Text

    • Introduction

    • Literature Review

    • Methodology

    • Results / Findings

    • Discussion

    • Conclusion

    • Practical & Managerial Implications

    • Limitations & Future Research

  5. References

  6. Tables and Figures

    • Numbered sequentially

    • Must include captions

    • Provided in editable format

4. Referencing Style

 

The journal follows APA (7th Edition) referencing style.

 

Examples:

 

Journal Article:

Smith, J. A., & Brown, R. L. (2022). Performance analytics in financial institutions. Journal of Management Studies, 45(3), 234–250.

 

Book:

Kaplan, R. S., & Norton, D. P. (2001). Strategy-focused organization. Harvard Business School Press.

 

All references cited in text must appear in the reference list and vice versa.

5. Ethical Standards

  • Manuscripts must be original and unpublished.

  • Simultaneous submission to other journals is prohibited.

  • All submissions are checked for plagiarism.

  • Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest.

  • Research involving human participants must include ethical approval details.

 

The journal adheres to international publication ethics standards.

6. Peer Review Process

  • All submissions undergo double-blind peer review.

  • Initial editorial screening (1–2 weeks).

  • Peer review process (4–6 weeks).

  • Final decision communicated after reviewer evaluation.

  • Revisions may be required before acceptance.

7. Submission Procedure

 

Authors must submit manuscripts via the journal’s official submission system or designated email provided on the journal website.

  • Manuscript file

  • Separate title page

  • Cover letter

  • Declaration of originality

  • Copyright transfer form (upon acceptance)

8. Article Processing Charges (APC)

 

Details regarding APC (if applicable) are available on the journal’s APC page. Waivers may be considered for exceptional cases.

9. Copyright & Licensing

 

Upon acceptance, authors will be required to sign a copyright agreement. Authors retain moral rights to their work while granting publishing rights to the journal.
