Human and Animal Rights Policy

The Global Journal of Dental Specialty (GJDS) is committed to protecting the rights, dignity, safety, and welfare of human participants and animals involved in research. The journal follows the ethical recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Declaration of Helsinki, and other internationally recognized guidelines governing human and animal research.

Human Research

Research involving human participants must be conducted in accordance with accepted ethical principles and approved by an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee before the study begins. Authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained from all participants and that participant privacy and confidentiality have been protected. Studies lacking appropriate ethical approval or informed consent may be rejected.

Animal Research

Research involving animals must comply with institutional, national, and international guidelines for the ethical care and use of laboratory animals. Authors should demonstrate that animal welfare was prioritized, unnecessary suffering was minimized, and the minimum number of animals required to achieve valid scientific results was used. Ethical approval from the appropriate authority should be clearly stated in the manuscript.

The journal reserves the right to request supporting ethical documentation and may reject or retract manuscripts that fail to comply with accepted human and animal research ethics standards.
